Barry Smith (W 69-73) has recently completed a book, ‘The Top 500 Summits, a lifetime of hillwalking’. The Top 500 Summits is the first comprehensive list of the high mountains of Britain and Ireland with a drop of 500ft or more. The list includes most of the Munros (some do not have a drop of 500 feet or more), all the Corbetts and many more mountains in England, Wales and Ireland. The highest mountain is Ben Nevis (4,411 feet), the lowest is Knockanaffrin in Ireland (2,477ft).

The book is available to buy for a reduced price of £20 for OSs (normal price £25). If you are interested in a copy please contact Benjamin Collins at bpc@sedberghschool.org.
