Capricious weather conditions on Tuesday 21st March made for added challenges for the 188 runners competing in the 134th Wilson Run but favourite Joe Bird, 18, led all the way and came in with a time of 1hr 13 09. 18-year-old Bird (E), from Penrith, triumphed ahead of second-placed Fergus MacMillan (SH) (1.15.52) and third placed Ben Van Dijk (H) (1.18.23). Maria Page, 17, (R), from Pembroke House Prep School, Kenya, who took gold for the girls, came 13th with a time of 1.30.10. Wilson Run – Taking place today as scheduled

Dear Old Sedberghians, I wrote yesterday morning to make you aware that the conditions on the course were hazardous and that we were reviewing the race scheduled for this afternoon.  In that email I wrote that we would announce a firm decision about the race by 11.00am today.  I also wrote yesterday evening to confirm that we expected the race to run as scheduled and that we would check the course this morning. Update On The Wilson Run 2017

Dear Old Sedberghians, This is a brief update about the condition of the Wilson Run course and the height of the rivers. Mr Fisher and I have been out on the course this afternoon and found that all the rivers and ghylls are now passable in the usual locations following several hours of bright, dry weather. As we know, the rivers rise and fall swiftly and this has worked in our favour today. Announcing the new Headmaster of Sedbergh Prep

After two days of intensive exercises and interviews last week, I am pleased to announce that Will Newman (42) will become Headmaster of Casterton, Sedbergh Preparatory School on 1 September 2017.
