It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Honorary OS Graeme Marrs, who died on Friday 16th August at the age of 79. Philip Thomas (H 95-00) To Participate in 1218km Cycle Challenge

The OS Club wishes the very best of luck to Philip Thomas (H 95-00) who will be participating in the gruelling Paris-Brest-Paris (PBP) Cycle Challenge on the 18th-22nd August this year in aid of cancer research. He is tackling this 1218 km (761 mile) event in memory of a former school friend, Sam Barker (E 95-00) who tragically died of cancer last year, leaving a wife and two young children. Through sponsorship he is planning to raise a minimum of £3018 to be shared between Cancer Research UK and Maggie’s Centre, Cambridge. The latter is a Cancer Charity that gave...

The Old Sedberghian Club has received the sad news that Jon Hardey (1950-2019), expert on peregrine falcons and other upland birds of prey, passed away in July 2019. Jon Hardey, who has died aged 69, belonged to the North East Branch of the Scottish Raptor Study Group, consisting of remarkable and feisty specialists studying the ecology, behaviour and changing fortunes of birds of prey.
