Afghanaid has 27 places in the London Marathon 2017. Are you looking for a challenge?

Niece of Old Sedberghians Mark and Simon Whitaker, Rose Hartley, is recruiting London Marathon runners for the charity Afghanaid.

With almost forty thousand people taking part in this world-famous race, and thousands more lining the streets to cheer them on, participating in the London Marathon is an incredible experience.

Running the London Marathon can change your life – but run it for Afghanaid and you’ll change the lives of many more. Last year, the charity’s runners each raised enough money to support 130 poor women to start their own small businesses. That is 131 lives changed with one race!

For over 30 years, Afghanaid has supported some of the poorest communities in Afghanistan, finding sustainable solutions to help vulnerable Afghans help themselves. Watch this film about their work to find out more.

All runners are asked to commit to raising a minimum of £1500 – an amount that has been easily met and exceeded by past runners with enthusiasm and determination.
