OS GIRLS’ HOCKEY SUCCESS

OS Girls Hockey Team are runners up in their first Alumni Schools Hockey Tournament.

On Sunday 22nd October the OS Girls took part in their first ever Alumni Schools hockey tournament, the Dean Close Sixes at Dean Close School in Cheltenham. The team consisted of Emilia Tyser (L 12-16) (captain), Emma Wood (R 06-08), Maddy George (R 09-14), Becky Glen (07-12), Ellie Kerr (R 05-10), Ellie Thompson (C13-14), Katharine Blair (L 06-11) and Kayleigh Debil (L 03-08). The squad was unfortunately without a goal keeper, however in true Sedberghian style Maddy George kindly volunteered and was outstanding in goal. The team did incredibly well and were the only team to win all of their matches only to lose a close final 2-1 to St Edward’s School, Oxford.

The girls enjoyed the event and are determined to go one better next year!

The girls OS hockey team also made history over OS Weekend by beating a particularly strong Girls 1st XI team at the annual OS vs School hockey team on Sunday 17th September for the first time in the history of the event. Well done girls!
