OSGS Triangular Match vs Old Lorettonians and Old Alleynians
This is the third year that Sedbergh have joined Old Lorettonians and Old Alleynians (Dulwich College) for a triangular match at the lovely New Zealand GC in Woking, Surrey. The other two schools had been playing regularly for the Lorwich Shield previously but Sedbergh achieved an emphatic victory in 2018 and were defending the title.
There was keen interest for this match and it was tough deciding who to leave out. The team on the day was Tony Birtwell (P 65-69), John Coutts (P 65-70), James Dinwiddie (S 68-73), Peter Ferens (E 58-63), Miles Moffat (E 57-62), Nigel Rich (L 58-63) and John Rink (L 60-65), expertly led by Richard Watherston (S 63-67) while match manager Robert Kendall (P 66-71) headed off to the Algarve sun!
On a very windy day (27th April), the morning foursomes saw Loretto establish a lunchtime lead of 3 points with 1.5 each for Sedbergh and Dulwich. After a fine NZGC lunch, Loretto also took the honours in the afternoon foursomes with Sedbergh edging out Dulwich. The final score for the day was OLs 5.5 points, OSs 3.5 points, OAs 3.0 points. This is a popular feature on the OSGS calendar and we look forward to renewing rivalries in 2020.

Annual OS vs. School Match
The OS contingent took on the School team for the annual match at Lancaster Golf Club on Friday, 17th May. The game was a tightly contested encounter with the School team coming through victorious again. It was great to have current pupil Archie Davies (P), Welsh Amateur Golfer of the Year for 2018, involved with the match. Many thanks go to Andrew Mawby (S 57-61) for organising the event. Well done to all!
