OS HOCKEY TEAM COME CLOSE AGAIN IN CHELTENHAM

Cheltenham

Our OS Girls Hockey Team were one of eight schools invited back to participate in the special Dean Close Sixes tournament in Cheltenham on October 21st. After debuting with a spectacular runner’s up performance last year, the squad this year comprised of captain Emilia Tyser (L 11-16), Ellie Thompson (C 13-14), Kayleigh Debil (L 03-08), Melissa Sproul (L 13-16), Becky Glen (R 07-12), goal-keeper Laura Batty (R 10-15), Immy Newcome (L 02-07), Eliza Hodgson (C 13-16) and Sophie Bolton (L 03-08). The team made a strong start, finishing unbeaten on top of their group with 2-0 and 3-1 victories over King Henry VIII School and Malvern College respectively and a 1-1 draw to Pangbourne College. The girls narrowly missed out on reaching their second consecutive final at the tournament with a last minute golden goal securing a 2-1 win for hosts Cheltenham in the Semifinals. The team hope to continue building on their success at the tournament next year. Well done girls!
