WW1 COMMEMORATIVE EVENT – 2015 VARSITY RUGBY MATCH THU 10TH DEC

The Varsity Rugby Match organisation are keen to build on last years World War 1 ‘Fallen Blues’ commemorative wreath laying and luncheon event by extending the 2015 event on Thursday 10th December to be a possible school alumni occasion and to continue to focus on the evident relationship building which was such a pleasure to witness. It has been an aim to continue to commemorate in some way throughout the centennial and I very much hope Sedbergh School might continue to be involved. I read with interest the Old Sedberghian Pilgrimage of Remembrance section on your website and hope there might be some way to add interest to this at Twickenham. The initial details are set out below and it is hoped that we might dress the room with a specific focus on the fallen blues of 1915. These include of course Frederic Turner of Sedbergh and Oxford.

The event will be hosted as sole occupancy in the Grand Slam Room in the West Stand close to the seats available. The room will be dedicated to the 55 Blues and likely dressed specifically remembering the fallen of 1915.

Attendees will receive:

best seats in the West Stand (£40)
a two course hot buffet and a half bottle of wine per person
Tea/Coffee and biscuits after the game
The Women’s Varsity Match (the first time held at Twickenham)
will be televised in the room
The package will cost £109.00 per head

Attendee numbers are not restricted
