David worked in Industrial Personnel (HR) Management for 39 years, 26 of which with the Burmah Castrol Group whence he retired in 1994. Aged 14, whilst a pupil at Sedbergh School, David expressed a determination, at some stage in his life, to commit formally to the church. In his forties he undertook ordination training for non-stipendiary ministry and he became fully ordained in 1984, aged 50. He spent 15 years in his active Parochial Ministry in the Joint Benefice of St Giles and St Margaret’s churches in Oxford. In retirement, David and his wife, Marjorie, moved in 2006, to Southgate in London, to live nearer to their children and grandchildren. Marjorie predeceased David in 2016. After a period of illness, David died in a nursing home in Southgate on 29th September this year.
