HENRY FOSTER (W 16-18) MEMORIAL MATCH

Hf2

As recently announced, Henry Foster tragically passed away aged 20 in May this year while completing his university studies in the United States. During the upcoming OS Weekend, in his memory, the OS Club will be hosting a memorial match in the form of the OS vs. Anti-Assassins game on Buskholme on Sunday 10th October 2021.

The match will kick-off at 2:30pm and refreshments will also be served after the game in the Hirst Centre.

Please get in touch with Ben Collins at bpc@sedberghschool.org if you are interested in playing for the OS team or if you would like to attend the Dinner in remembrance and celebration of Henry’s life.

Henry was an integral part of the 1st XV and a role model for those in Winder House. He was on a rugby scholarship at Central Washington University (CWU) in Washington, USA, having joined the Wildcats team there in 2018 and making an immediate impact as a freshman. At Sedbergh, Henry was an integral part of the part of the all-conquering, undefeated Sedbergh 1st XV of 2018 which won the National Treble – the Daily Mail trophy in addition to the National Rosslyn Park 7s and Sedbergh 10s titles.

Although Henry was forced to medically retire after the 2020 season with the Washington Wildcats, he remained close to the team as he continued his studies at CWU. Henry will be forever remembered as a great rugby player in the unbeaten 2018 season, but also an incredible role model for all pupils.

We do hope you can join us for this special tribute to Henry.
