This will be school based training at Sedbergh Senior School or Casterton, Sedbergh Prep school to gain qualified teacher status in conjunction with an online training course with the University of Buckingham (plus two residentials). I changed from Chartered Surveying to teaching at the age of 40, so its never too late!

Have you ever thought of changing career and making a difference?

In September 2020 we are starting an initial teacher training scheme at Sedbergh in conjunction with The University of Buckingham. It is school based with online training and takes 10 months. The post is on a salary with free accommodation, free meals during term time and you will have the help of experienced professional and subject mentors to support you throughout the year. Some packages include payment of university fees.

Many people find their jobs unrewarding and unfulfilling but we can say from experience, that a teacher’s life is anything but boring! We change lives and although not the easiest job at times, it gives us the opportunity to make a difference to young peoples lives.

If you are interested, or would just like to register for further information, please email Helen Dootson at hvd@sedberghschool.org. She will be happy to talk to you about the world of teaching.
