Hilary worked at Sedbergh School in the late 1970’s, taking charge of the Art school while Robin Davey took a sabbatical. Previously she had completed a degree in Fine Art at Durham University, and was Head of the Art Department at Marlborough Grammar School before marrying Roger and moving to Sedbergh in 1975. Hilary says that after Roger’s outstanding service to Sedbergh School for 40 years, “We are now enjoying our 27th year of very happy and active retirement! During these years we have travelled extensively in our VW camper van and we have had many new horizons for walking in and painting, and Roger can still be seen from time to time on parts of ‘The Ten’ course.“
