Marcus Baker (W 97-02) & Robert Buchanan (S 97-02) Completed The Legendary Marathon Des Sables
Congratulations to Marcus Baker and Robert Buchanan who completed the legendary Marathon des Sables, or MdS, which is known as ‘the toughest footrace on Earth‘- an amazing achievement for these two endurance runners. To complete the challenge, competitors take on six marathons in six days across the scorching Sahara Desert, covering over 250km (approx 150mi.) in temperatures of up to 50 degrees Celsius, all while carrying the equipment on your back and sleeping on the desert floor in traditional Berber tents each night. In their achievement, Marcus and Robert raised over £19,000 for two important charities that help former servicemen and women – Walking With The Wounded and Veterans Aid.
