OS Club Wins Gold Award for Global Run Video
The OS Club is delighted to share the news that our 2021 Global Run video recently won the Gold Award in the Special Event category at this year’s InspirED School Marketers Awards! The 4-minute video, which was launched last summer in conjunction with the 2021 Global Run and Wilson Run, features archival footage of the historic Wilson Run throughout the years and led to an outpouring of supportive video messages for last year’s runners from Old Sedberghians in over 20 countries around the world.
An international panel of 70 judges and marketing experts selected three winners from a pool of nominations which was open to schools around the world, with Gold, Silver and Bronze prizes in 29 categories.
Comments from the judges on the video included the following:
“Wow! What a fun tradition with deep historical roots! This was a creative way to engage constituents around the world. (And those drone shots are incredible!) Well done!”
A feast for the eyes, this video is informative, captivating and entertaining, while building the case for giving. It has an excellent twist as the historic local event is taken global and online, and evidence of the school’s breadth and heritage is portrayed in a powerful format. Well done!
This is just a simply GORGEOUS video with an emotional soundtrack that tells a great story. It made me, a non-runner, want to participate!
It’s hard to capture the history, tradition, excitement, and emotion behind an event, but this school did just that.
In winning the award, the OS Club video beat out stiff competition from schools around the world advertising single-event celebrations. Meanwhile, Sedbergh School also won the Gold Award for In-House Still Photography, with Mr Steve Cooling’s outdoor adventure photography which was described as “breathtaking” and “stunning” by the judges.

A big thank you and well done to all involved in making The Global Run last year a great success!
