The Grafton Morrish is a foursomes matchplay tournament played off scratch (no handicap allowances) and is contested by public school old boy teams from all over the UK. Schools must successfully navigate a regional qualifying competition in order to make it to the finals (played each year at Royal West Norfolk and Hunstanton golf clubs in Norfolk). More information about the tournament, including a breakdown of qualifying scores, can be found at http://www.graftonmorrish.org.uk.

I am pleased to report another solid performance by Sedbergh at this year’s qualifying. In a high scoring event, Sedbergh finished with a very respectable total of 87 Stableford points, a close second behind the winners Bury (89 points) and comfortably securing a place at the finals later in the year.

The following Old Sedberghians represented the school in the qualifying event at Huddersfield GC in May:

Charles Webb & Henry Flather (30 points), Will Jeffries & Alastair Smith (29 points) Jamie Edgar & Charles Abraham (28 points)
