Following the decision to cancel the 2020 tournament last October due to the coronavirus pandemic, the OS Club is pleased to announce that the annual Dean Close Alumni Sixes Hockey Tournament is due to return this year and the OS Club has once again been invited to take part. The special event will take place on Sunday 24th October 2021 at the Dean Close School in Cheltenham.
The OS team has enjoyed great success in the tournament in their three attempts at the trophy; having finished runners up in 2019 and 2017 and a semi-final finish in 2018. This year, unlike the last competition where the format was modified to be exclusively round robin with no elimination phases, the tournament will return to a pool-based round robin format in the morning followed by a semi-final, final and provisional plays-offs after lunch.
The team in 2019 comprised of: (from left to right) Tamsin Brown (L 11-14), Eliza Nelstrop (L 13-18), Jemima Cookson (L 14-19), Mel Sproul (L 13-16), Georgina Boyd-Moss (L 13-18), Ellie Thompson (C 13-14), Emma Richardson (Wood) (R 06-08), Laura Batty (R 10-15), Kayleigh Debil (L 03-08), Josie Coulthard (R 14-18) and Issy Chamberlain (L 14-19).
• 6 a side, max squad of 12.
• Team briefings at 10.30am, First group push back 11am, Final at 3pm.
• Final will be played for the Denys Carnill Cup.
• Latest laws of hockey apply.
