OS TEAM WIN 2019 MORGAN RUN
A legion of nearly 500 mud-soaked Sedberghians of past and present turned out in challenging conditions on Saturday 26th January for the annual 4.8 mile Morgan Run. The run was established in 1958 and is one Sedbergh’s most popular and characterful events. The competition, which takes place across Frostrow Fell, is a race for OS against the School and Staff and was won this year by the Old Sedberghian squad for the first time since 2005.
The top three male performers from the OS team were:
Sam Fisher (W 06-11) who won the event for the second year running in 27 minutes and 2 seconds
Jonny Campbell (SH 11-16) who finished third overall in 27 minutes and 27 seconds
Joe Bird (E 12-17) in 28 minutes and 4 seconds rounding out the overall top five
The women’s winner was current pupil Alex Duckitt (R) in an impressive 33:55, while the fastest three OS performers were:
Jose Coulthard (R 14-18) 34 minutes and 45 seconds
Sally Bennett (R 11-18) 35 minutes and 49 seconds
Emma Richardson (R 06-08) 36 minutes and 11 seconds
The trophies for the male and female winners were then presented by the Headmaster Dan Harrison in the Hirst Centre.
Congratulations to all runners!
