SEDBERGH GIRLS’ HOCKEY 1ST XI CONTINUE FINE FORM

Hockey

The first XI Hockey Team continue to go from strength to strength and have enjoyed an excellent season, winning 14/20 games across various competitions with just three losses. A streak of 11 wins contributed to their progression into the 4th Round of the Investec Girls Schools U18 Tier 1 Championships, a newly formed national knock-out competition featuring 100 teams from across the country.

Teams play in three regional areas up to the quarter final stage when the draw will go open. Under the captaincy of Issy Chamberlain (L), the squad advanced to the final stage of the Northern section (4th Round) with a trio of convincing wins over the last couple of months – 7-1 over Cheadle Hulme on December 11th, 4-2 over Manchester High on November 22nd, and 8-2 over AKS Lytham on October 8th, contributing to an impressive +56 goal difference this season across all competitions. The girls now look towards their 4th Round match against a formidable Repton side, to be played early next year.

Congratulations girls on a fantastic season and keep up the great play! Full fixtures of the first XI can be found here.
