SUMMER STAFF NEEDED

SHORT TERM SUMMER JOBS AT SEDBERGH AND CASTERTON PORTERING, MAINTENANCE AND WAITING STAFF FOR COURSES
Portering and Maintenance Teams:
- Movement of furniture and other equipment
- Movement of boarding house furniture in preparation for painting, replacing carpets and other elements of the Summer works programme
- Support to the course programme and events – setting up BBQs, gazebos, car parking etc.
- Any other jobs that may emerge which require lifting and shifting
Catering – Courses Programme – From 22nd July
- Preparing dining areas for meal times
- Serving drinks, meals and snacks in Powell Hall, Queen’s Hall and pavilions
- Clearing tables, cleaning dining areas and operating dish washers
The roles are interchangeable but you can make a preference for one or the other if necessary. In both cases the essential characteristics are:
- The ability to work proactively, and without constant supervision
- A willing and cheerful disposition
- Initiative
- Organisational abilities
- Good communication skills
- Competent in the manual handling of loads, some training will be required and must be physically fit
- Have knowledge of understanding of Sedbergh
- Good team player with the ability to deal with people in a polite and courteous manner
- A full driving licence is desirable but not essential
