‘The Big Heart Runners’ To Run The Edinburgh Marathon For Charity

‘The Big Heart Runners’ are a group of seven Old Robertsonian girls – Madeleine Redmayne (R 08-13), Alexandra Johnston (R 08-13), Victoria Johnston (R 08-13), Rachel Hendrickse (R 07-11), Ellie Winstanley (R 09-13), Maria Ortbauer (R 11-13) and Vanessa Butterworth (R 11-13) – who will be running the Edinburgh Marathon on the 24th May to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation.

My dad very sadly passed away very unexpectedly from a heart attack in November and so we have picked up our running shoes to raise money for a cause that aims to stop heart break forever. 

My dad spent many a Saturday afternoon on Busk pitches watching my brother’s play rugby and he enthusiastically shouted us all through the Wilson Run finish line. We therefore felt, as we all have such a strong connection with the school, that you may be able to publicise our cause in a newsletter or similar.

We will be hosting a fundraising event on Saturday 4th April -The Big Heart Bash – a drinks party at Balls Brothers, Austin Friars, London. Tickets will be £25 on the door. Guests will receive a complimentary glass of bubbly on arrival and there will be entertainment throughout the evening. Please get in touch via this address if you are interested in attending.
