THE HIRST CENTRE

Saturday 7th July saw the official opening of the Hirst Centre with a packed hall of over 900 students, staff, guests, OS and parents being entertained with music and dance, some excellent speeches and the prize presentations. The Hirst Centre recognises the exceptional leadership provided by Christopher and Sara Hirst of the School between 1995 and 2010. Christopher and Sara were honoured guests and opened the building during the Speech Day ceremony.

It was fantastic to have three Old Sedberghians back to speak and present the prizes. George Biggar (SH 98-03) and Dicky Taylor (SH 98-03) spoke about their record-breaking row across the Atlantic to the Senior School and presented the prizes and former Head of School, Simon Cross (W 94-99) gave an inspirational speech to the Sedbergh Prep School about his time at Sedbergh and presented the pupils their prizes.
